Ken BWKen Heiden is an ARDMS-registered sonographer in adult, pediatric, and vascular ultrasound.  An echocardiographer since 1985, he is a graduate of the Grossmont College School of Ultrasound in San Diego, California. Grossmont College was one of the first schools in the country to offer cardiovascular technology training.

After working for more than a decade in cardiac labs in California and Colorado, Heiden received special training in pediatric echocardiography at St. Joseph  Regional Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, one of the largest neonatal intensive  care units in the Midwest.  He presently lives in suburban Milwaukee where he is a cardiac sonographer and president of Midwest EchoSolutions.

“As an echocardiographer for over 20 years, I was frustrated with the lack of easy-to-understand educatioal materials available. The only books I could find were over-complicated and difficult to read. I set out to create a book that’s not only informative and detailed, but completely easy to understand. Congenital Heart Defects, Simplified breaks down the 30 most common heart defects, and provides concise bullet-point descriptions with full-cover illustrations in a quick-reference, spiral bound format. No confusing jargon, no unnecessary content – just simplified information for those who need it most.â€
